Room was clean & well laid out. Walking to room along hallway very hot & humid. No restaurant. Good under cover carpark, Desk Staff very polite & helpful.

Quest Mackay is very conveniently located in the city area. It is within walking distance to their major Caneland shopping centre and leisure swimming park, the Blue Lagoon. There are many restaurants around Quest as well. The ladies at reception area have been very helpful and friendly. My room is very large combining with a kitchenette that is equipped with a toaster/kettle, fridge, hot plates and microwave. The place looked rather new and well maintained. It has a large flat screen LG tv and small round dining table with 2 chairs; a large desk and chair too. The bed felt like 2 beds banked together into one bed as I can feel the ridge/edge of a bed running down the centre of the bed. The walls are somewhat thin as I can hear doors shutting from other rooms. Quest has a large open deck on level 2 that has several deck tables and chairs but I noticed there were no umbrellas. However, I only visited it at night, so maybe they've been packed away. The swimming pool although opened till 9pm did not have enough lighting in or around the pool to enable swimming in it safely, it was too dark. When I finally went for a swim in a late afternoon, there was a nice rattan swinging chair that looked comfy, a lounge chair and a small round glass table by the pool. The water was warm but too much chlorine. The floor of the pool felt slippery which I'm not sure is lack of scrubbing or too much chlorine. I could spend only about 10minutes in it. Quest provides free access to a 24hr gym within walking distance so that was very nice.
Great location in the centre of Mackay. Clean and spacious rooms. Close to the Canelands Central shopping centre and plenty of good restaurants.
