Modern . Staff very helpful with any querys. The only slight letdown for me would be noise . Worth 4 stars. Love area designated for kids.
This is a playground with some books. Screaming kids everywhere. Useless if you need to study or concentrate.
Dont go if you want quiet to concentrate. kids in playroom were acting and allowed to act like it was a playground.
If you want a library, to work, study or quietly read? Don't go here. Because apart from having (some) books. It is only a social place. The goodThis is not a library. It is a place where people can read a book, check their email, watch TV, sleep on a couch and have lunch all at the same time! Kids running around, a quiet corner that isn't quiet from the road and streetnoise and you can bring drinks and food. Spill as much as you want and just leave it for somebody else to clean! After 3pm you get 14-16 year olds being noisy. It is a great place to socialise when it is hot outside. Just bring your friends a coffee from Mothers pantry and enjoy all the great facilities here!Very knowledgable librariansThe librarians will tell you what places to visit in Mackay! How to look up email, turn the computer on/off. They will show you a 3D printer which they never turn on, or a insanely stupid robot. They will bring your coffee and I wouldn't be surprised if they wipe your ass if you ask nicely. Short facts what makes this social place great! - No need to turn of your phone, or put it on silent- You can let your kid scream as long as they/you want- You can let your other kid run around- No need to look after your kid- No need to have respect for anybody else- Socialise with your friends, bring coffee & lunch- No need to clean up after your kid or yourself, your mum will do that later (or librarians)But all in all a great place to visit, they just gave it the wrong name.
The building is beautiful but very impractical as a library. It is very noisy and has lost the library feel. The set up is not straight forward and they were serving food for some even right near the shelves, with no respect for the books at all.
